Tods Murray is pleased to report that its client, Consort Healthcare, advised by our capital projects team led by Partner Stephen Colliston achieved financial close in the £330 million Pinderfields & Pontefract Hospitals Development PFI Project (pictured left) on Thursday 28 June 2007.  This is one of the largest PFI hospital projects in the UK this year.  The project comprises a new acute hospital in Wakefield having a gross internal area of approximately 86,354 square metres, and a new diagnostic and treatment centre in Pontefract having a gross internal area of approximately 21,070 square metres.  The shareholders in Consort Healthcare (Mid Yorkshire) are Balfour Beatty Capital and Royal Bank Project Investments.  Stephen Colliston said: "This is our fourth bond funded deal for a Balfour Beatty consortium and one of the largest PFI projects in the UK health sector this year.  We are delighted to have represented Consort throughout the bidding and preferred bidder process.  Inevitably, in a scheme of this size and complexity, new issues have arisen, over a number of years, which have required innovative solutions.  It gives us great pleasure to have assisted in the success of a project of this importance.”
