Elaine deals with UK-wide property transactions, including cross-border work. Particular areas of expertise are property finance and development work. Elaine also leads the team which lends property support to the firm’s Capital Projects department and has considerable experience of the complexities arising from the property aspects of PFI/PPP transactions. Elaine is dual qualified in Scots and English law.
Recent deals include: acting for the Bank of Scotland in the refinancing of a £100m portfolio of fifteen London properties; leading a team acting for the Bank of Scotland 1976 Pension Scheme in relation to two £20m portfolio acquisitions of industrial and office premises; and acting for Balfour Beatty Capital Projects Limited on the property aspects of the following PFI/PPP projects: Blackburn Hospital (£100m), Rotherham Schools (£100m), Bassetlaw Schools (£125m) and the ongoing £600m Birmingham Hospitals project.
