Catering in Scotland Awards
Leading Scottish law firm Tods Murray LLP was the only legal firm to sponsor an award at this year’s Catering in Scotland Awards, held at the Glasgow Hilton on 27th May 2010.
The firm, which has a strong Hospitality and Leisure team that deals with a wide range of areas of law affecting the hospitality sector including licensing and gambling, timeshare, entertainment and media, property and employment, is co-sponsoring the Excellence in Hospitality Education Award.
Hopefuls David Auchie of South Lanarkshire College, Kevin McGlynn of Edinburgh’s Telford College and Apex Hotels/Napier University Apex Hotels Ltd were all in the running to win the prestigious accolade, with Apex running out winners on the night.
It is the second year in a row that Tods Murray has supported the Excellence in Hospitality Education Award.
Alex Buchanan, Editor of Catering in Scotland magazine and Director of the Awards, said:
"We have collaborated with Tods Murray for the past three years, and over that time we have developed a strong, mutually beneficial working relationship.
“Tods Murray's Hospitality and Leisure team demonstrate considerable strengths and expertise in the Scottish tourism and hospitality sector, whilst providing a valuable resource to our magazine readers and awards entrants on complex legal matters concerning both their businesses and their personal lives.”
Head of Tods Murray’s Hospitality and Leisure team is recognised entertainment law expert and partner Richard Findlay.
He said:
“The hospitality industry in Scotland is one of our most vibrant tourist attractions and is the biggest employer outside of local government. These awards show real recognition for those working in this industry and we were proud to lend our support.
“The Catering in Scotland Awards are always a great night and this was no exception”.
