Tods Murray Staff cut the Kilos
Staff at leading independent Scottish legal firm, Tods Murray LLP, cut over 325 kilos of greenhouse gases from their daily routines in an initiative for World Environment Day, earlier this month.
The final total, calculated by the Carbon Neutral Company as 325.21 kilos of CO2, was formally announced this week and a certificate was presented to the firm.
Tods Murray already operate an Environmental Policy throughout the Firm and have received praise from an independent carbon audit last year, however, with an extra push and as part of the worldwide campaign, “Cut out a Kilo,” staff at the law firm embraced a host of additional initiatives including switching off their PCs when away from their desks, turning down the air conditioning systems and recycling even more paper than normal, in a bid to reduce their carbon footprint.
David Dunsire, executive partner at Tods Murray, commented: “This is a very impressive total and I would like to extend my thanks to all our staff. We fully embraced the campaign and it clearly made people very aware of the different ways we can work to further reduce our carbon footprint. I’m sure this will have a lasting effect as it showed how little things which we are all able to do can collectively make a big difference.”
