The firm promotes the use of renewable resources and environmental awareness amongst its employees and suppliers. Tods Murray has incorporated energy efficiency measures into building design and promotes efficient energy use in all areas of business activity.
Current environmental efficiencies include;
Resource Efficiency
- Office lighting incorporates movement sensors and automatically switch off once staff have left the office
- Energy efficient light bulbs are used where possible
- Air conditioning is only on during core business hours before resetting itself to design parameters at the start of each day
- Water saving devices reduce the quantity of water used for day to day activities
- All electrical appliances are checked regularly to ensure safety and operational efficiency
- Equipment such as photocopiers, faxes and fridges have triple A energy ratings
- Power saving tools used on all computer equipment
- Tods Murray follow the guidelines laid down by the WEEE Directive
Recycling
- Recycling bins are provided throughout our floors for non-confidential paper, plastic, cans and cardboard
- Confidential paper is shredded on site and recycled
- Reuse and recycling of redundant equipment and furniture including mobile phones and PCs
Suppliers
- Tods Murray requires contractors and suppliers to proactively manage their environmental efficiency whilst working on Tods Murray's premises or projects involving the firm
- Tods Murray adopts a purchasing programme that takes into account the environmental impact of products and services.
Business Travel
- Video conferencing equipment available in both Edinburgh and Glasgow offices and is regularly used for meetings and training sessions.
- Encouragement of public transport usage – Tods Murray provides interest-free season ticket loans to staff
