We recommend that all candidates with a disability should inform the firm during the recruitment process to ensure that any reasonable adjustments can be made where applicable.
Completing your application form
We understand that completing an application form can be time consuming, however, this is your opportunity to let us know why we should offer you a traineeship. The form should take approximately one hour to complete, but do read our ‘top tips’ section to give you the best chance of securing an interview.
If you have any queries, please email recruitment@todsmurray.com and a member of the Personnel and Development Team will contact you.
TOP TIPS
- We receive hundreds of applications each year so use this opportunity to differentiate yourself from the other candidates
- As most applicants have similar academic records, it is vital to use your extra curricular experiences to your advantage. Work experience, studying abroad and involvement in voluntary organisations, university clubs and societies etc. should be highlighted
- Avoid text book answers. We want your application to reflect your personality and experience to date so make it an interesting read!
- Lastly, remember the basics. Take care to complete the application accurately, checking things like spelling and grammar and take time to complete all sections of the form
- Finally, we wish you the very best of luck
Interview Process
We review applications on an ongoing basis, and, if successful, you will be invited to an interview which will take place in our Edinburgh office. Interviews are normally carried out by our Knowledge and Training Partner, Lynn Beaumont; the Executive Partner, David Dunsire and a member of the Personnel and Development Team.
You will be required to give a short presentation during the interview, and a subject brief will be provided prior to attending.
Offers are normally made to successful candidates shortly after attending interview.
